Druid Sigil Charm
Isaac's Druid Sigil Charm

This is a small version of the Druid Sigil. A wreath of sacred leaves covered by two Druidic staves, sometimes referred to as spears "passing through" the wreath. While the origin of the symbol is somewhat "hazy", David Fisher, in 1963 c.e claimed that it was a symbol of Druidism in general and the Earth Mother in particular.

In his words Isaac Bonewits wrote: "Regardless of its historical origins, I think that it is a quintessentially female symbol and is thus psychologically powerful. For political and metaphysical reasons, I think it’s important for members of a religion that many folks erroneously assume is male-dominated to have a constant reminder of the eternal power of the female force(s) of Nature. As a magical sign, I’ve used the Druid Sigil for over thirty years as both a blessing symbol and as a banishing sign. From a magical point of view, it is fully as powerful as a pentagram, Seal of Solomon or cross, and meditation upon it will provide many insights."

Isaac created a series of drawings and had me make this piece for him. A wreath of oak and the two staves over the top This a symbol of the Earth Mother or Gaia used by many Neopagan Druids.

Since his passing, I have extended the design into a Sigil Ring and Post earrings, and this charm: only 10 mm tall, perfect for charm bracelets, decorating your drum and a host of other uses.

Many other designs he created and other I have produced for Druids may be found here.
